About

Who we are

Assurance Governance and the website ‘governor.org’ is a national governance project owned, funded and run by UK Education Research and Innovation (UKERI), as part of its longstanding partnership work with diocese, individual schools & academies, academy trusts and local authorities.

History

Assurance Governance as an approach was conceptually launched in November 2011, and has since grown to encompass face-to-face and e-learning support delivered at a national level.

The projects and the resources on this web site draw from an ever-developing UKERI specialism in training and development of a form easily accessible to busy volunteers working in an increasingly complex and demanding sector.

The approach and resource is proving extremely useful for a range of national and regional partners, and continues to evolve and develop in response to the growing needs of the sector.

Please do contact us if you would like to explore its use further in your own context – whether as an individual institution or a group of schools or academies.
